Terms of Publishing
Publishing Terms and Conditions – Standard Package (K3,750)
1. Scope of Services
Zambian ARTS Publishing House (“Publisher”) offers professional publishing services through carefully structured packages. The Standard Package includes:
Manuscript Review: Assessment of the manuscript for clarity, quality, and readiness.
Manuscript Report: A detailed feedback report highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, and publishing recommendations.
Professional Editing: Line-by-line editing to refine grammar, punctuation, structure, and flow.
Book Cover Design: A professionally designed front and back cover tailored to the theme and genre of the book.
Formatting and Typesetting: Layout design for print and digital formats, ensuring readability and consistency.
ISBN Assignment: Allocation of a unique ISBN for global identification and cataloging.
Compilation and Proofreading: Final arrangement and thorough review of the entire manuscript before publishing.
2 Display Marketing Banners: Professionally designed banners for physical or digital book promotion.
Basic Marketing: Online exposure through selected social media platforms and digital listings.
Community Affiliation: Author’s inclusion in relevant literary and business networks for broader visibility.
Book Launch Consultancy: Guidance and tips on organizing a successful book launch event.
2 Hardcopy Samples: Two printed copies of the book delivered upon publication.
2. Publishing Packages
The Standard Package is priced at K3,750. It provides a balanced publishing experience with both production and initial marketing services. Authors may compare all available packages before selecting the one that best suits their needs.
3. Manuscript Confidentiality
All manuscripts are strictly confidential and used solely for publishing purposes.
No manuscript will be shared, distributed, or repurposed without the Author’s written permission.
All files are securely handled during and after the publishing process.
4. Submission Guidelines
Authors must submit materials digitally via the official submission portal or through an authorized representative.
Required Submissions:
Microsoft Word (.docx) manuscript
Any images (if applicable) in JPEG format
Author’s biography for the “About the Author” section
5. Publishing Process
The entire process is conducted remotely for convenience and speed.
Once publishing is complete, two hardcopy samples will be printed and arranged for pickup or delivery.
Authors outside Lusaka will be responsible for delivery arrangements and costs.
6. Payment Terms
Full payment of K3,750 is required to finalize your submission and begin the publishing process.
No work will commence until payment has been received.
Payment options include Mobile Money and Bank Transfer (details are provided upon invoice).
Bulk printing beyond the 2 included copies is not part of this package and will be quoted separately.
7. Publishing Timeline
Publishing takes a maximum of 21 working days after confirmation of payment and submission of all required materials.
Late submission of content by the Author may delay the timeline.
8. Author Rights
The Author retains full ownership of the book and its content.
It is the Author’s responsibility to review and approve drafts and cover designs in a timely manner.
The Publisher may archive the final files for internal use or reprints only with Author’s consent.
9. Publisher Responsibilities
The Publisher guarantees delivery of all services listed under the Standard Package with professional standards.
Any services not listed in the Standard Package (such as web development, bookstore distribution, or extended marketing) must be separately arranged.
10. ISBN and Copyright
The Publisher will register and assign a valid ISBN to the book, facilitating cataloging and legal recognition.
Copyright remains fully with the Author. The Publisher acts only as a service provider.
11. Termination Policy
Either party may terminate the agreement in writing if terms are breached.
If termination occurs after work has started, no refunds will be issued for completed services.
12. Refund Policy
No Refunds Policy:
Refunds are not applicable once publishing begins.
Exception Clause:
A refund may be considered only if the Publisher fails to complete the project within 21 working days beyond the agreed timeframe and fails to communicate or provide a valid explanation.
Refund Process:
A written refund request must be submitted via email.
If approved, refunds will be processed within 31 days.
The refund amount will reflect the value of any incomplete work; completed services will be deducted from the total.
13. Legal Jurisdiction
All agreements with Zambian ARTS Publishing House fall under the legal jurisdiction of the Republic of Zambia.
