Terms of Publishing
Publishing Terms and Conditions – Basic Package (K2,750)
1. Scope of Services
Zambian ARTS Publishing House (“Publisher”) offers professional publishing services under selected packages. The Basic Package includes:
Manuscript Review: Evaluation of the manuscript for quality, coherence, and readiness for editing.
Professional Editing: Grammar, spelling, and structure refinement to enhance clarity and flow.
Book Cover Design: A custom front and back cover tailored to the book’s genre and content.
Formatting and Typesetting: Proper layout and design for print-ready and digital versions.
ISBN Assignment: Allocation of an International Standard Book Number for cataloging and publishing rights.
Compilation and Proofreading: Final assembly and polish of the manuscript to prepare it for publication.
Note: This package does not include hardcopy samples, marketing services, promotional banners, or community affiliation.
2. Publishing Packages
Authors are free to select from a range of publishing packages based on their needs and budget. The Basic Package is priced at K2,750, and excludes printing or marketing. Full package comparisons are available upon request.
3. Manuscript Confidentiality
All manuscripts are handled with strict confidentiality.
Manuscripts will not be shared, published, or used outside the publishing process without written consent.
All digital files are securely stored and protected.
4. Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be made digitally via our official platform or through an authorized agent.
Required Files:
Manuscript in Microsoft Word (.docx) format
Images (if applicable) in JPEG
A short biography for the “About the Author” section
5. Publishing Process
All communication and publishing processes are done remotely.
Final book files will be delivered digitally.
If the author arranges for printing later, delivery or collection of printed books will be handled at their own cost through our Lusaka office.
6. Payment Terms
You must make a full payment of K2,750 to finalize your submission and activate the publishing process.
Work will not commence until payment is received.
Accepted payment methods include Mobile Money and Bank Transfer (details provided with your invoice).
Bulk printing is not part of the Basic Package and will require a separate quote and payment.
7. Publishing Timeline
The publishing process takes a maximum of 21 working days from the date of full payment and submission of all required materials.
Delays caused by late submission of materials are not the responsibility of the Publisher.
8. Author Rights
The Author retains full ownership and copyright of the book.
It is the Author’s responsibility to submit a finalized manuscript, review drafts, and approve designs within specified deadlines.
9. Publisher Responsibilities
The Publisher will ensure quality production and deliverables according to the Basic Package scope.
Any additional services not included in the Basic Package (e.g., marketing, printing, or banner design) must be arranged separately.
10. ISBN and Copyright
The Publisher will assign and register the ISBN to ensure global cataloging and compliance.
Copyright remains with the Author; the Publisher is only a facilitator.
11. Termination Policy
Either party may terminate the agreement in writing if terms are not met.
If the agreement is terminated after work has commenced, no refunds will be issued for services already rendered.
12. Refund Policy
No Refunds Policy:
Refunds are not available once publishing work begins.
Exception Clause:
A refund may only be requested if the Publisher fails to complete the project within 21 working days beyond the agreed timeframe without communication or justification.
Refund Request Procedure:
A formal request must be submitted via email.
Approved refunds will be processed within 31 days of confirmation.
The refund amount will be based on the unfulfilled portion of services, with deductions for completed tasks.
13. Legal Jurisdiction
All agreements and services provided by Zambian ARTS Publishing House are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia.
