Our Story

Founded by Jimmy Kayika, a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumnus and finalist of the 2023 Ngoma National Awards for Literature, Zambian ARTS Publishing House has become a cornerstone of African storytelling and literary empowerment. In just a short span, we have published and distributed over 20,000 books, reaching audiences across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Nigeria, Malawi, the UK, the US, and Canada. Our passion lies in celebrating African culture, educating communities, and elevating the voices of local authors on the global stage.

Our Approach

As a remote-first publishing house, we leverage digital tools to collaborate with authors efficiently, regardless of their location. The entire publishing process—from manuscript submission to finalization—is conducted remotely. Once the project is complete, hardcopy collections are coordinated through our printing office in Lilayi, Lusaka, or delivered nationwide at the author’s expense. This model not only saves time and resources but also fosters transparency and collaboration at every stage.
